The German Society built its Versammlungssaal (Assembly Hall) in 1888 for lectures, concerts, special events and general meetings of the Society membership.
The Hall was named in 1999 for Albert and Hete Barthelmes who made possible the renovation of the Society's elegant 1888 library reading room, as well as the four plaster electric chandeliers that are original to the room.
The Ballroom has a Steinway piano and exceptional acoustics.
Please note: The Ballroom has recently been repainted in neutral, brown earth tones. Photos in its refurbished state will be posted shortly.

It seats over 200 on the first floor and an additional 100 in the second story balcony (in auditorium style). For a sit-down dinner, 130-150 can be accommodated with space for a dance floor, depending on the tables used.
The room as it was setup for our own annual black-tie dinner.
