 Cantus Novus

Cantus Novus is an auditioned chamber choir based in Bucks County, PA.  Specializing in a cappella repertoire, the ensemble sings a varied repertoire including both choral masterworks and contemporary works of the best choral composers. In addition to its annual concerts in December and May, the ensemble performs regularly at other venues in the Delaware Valley throughout the year. Cantus Novus supports a choral intern program that provides talented high school and college-aged vocalists the opportunity to sing with the ensemble each season. The ensemble’s first recording, Jubilate: A Celebration in Song, will be available later in 2012.

Cantus Novus

Artistic director of Cantus Novus is Dr. John Leonard, professor of choral conducting at The College of New Jersey, and a graduate of the Esther Boyer College of Music at TempleUniversity and the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University.  Dr. Leonard has also sung as a tenor with the Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia and with Philadelphia Singers.
