Fleeing Europe Conference

In connection with the 200th Anniversary of its Library, the German Society will be co-hosting a small conference on "Fleeing Europe, Finding Philadelphia - German Atlantic Migrants and the Crisis of 1816/17". The event is organized by Dr. James Boyd, a previous GHI Fellow at the Horner Memorial Library, with support by the Fritz Thyssen Foundation. It will take place on July 17 and 18, with Monday's proceedings at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, and Tuesday's at the German Society.  You are cordially invited to attend on one or both days, but you will have to register with the office by Monday, July 10th - there will be no on-site registration.
