Konversationsabend: Talent Show

Last fall, some of us were talking during a concert intermission and over a glass of champagne about the impressive performance of the musicians we had just listened to. All of a sudden the idea emerged that there appeared to be various talents among the members of the Konversationsabend. Shouldn’t we honor these members by giving them some minutes of fame at one of our meetings? I fully agreed and we all took another sip of the champagne. I thought that was it. But when the idea was brought up again, and more than once, it was time to act. I asked around for volonteers, and now we have a wonderful program for the May meeting, the last of the spring season. There will be several short readings of „our own“ poetry and prose, a dance performance by two members, and then, after a brief intermission and visit to the buffet, we will walk up  to the Barthelmes Auditorium and listen to two piano recitals, one a song with accompaniment and the other a short concert piece. We will conclude with all of us singing a popular German folksong known by everyone. As always – all are invited, all are welcome. Refreshments will be served.
