With over 70,000 German language books, pamphlets and manuscripts,
the Joseph Horner Memorial Library of the German Society of Pennsylvania is the
largest collection of German materials in the U.S outside a university. The library
specializes in 19th century works and its strengths lie in the areas of history,
travel literature, popular literature, religion, and children's books.
A special
collection of approximately 10,000 works on all
aspects of German-American life in the U.S., with special emphasis on Pennsylvania.
