“A Princess born in Exile“ // With Konstanza Prinzessin zu Löwenstein and Dr. Sylvia Asmus // Finissage of the traveling exhibition “Exile. Experience and Testimony”

On October 28, 2018 the third stop of the traveling exhibition "Exile. Experience and Testimony" at the German Society of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia will conclude with lectures by Konstanza Prinzessin zu Löwenstein and Dr. Sylvia Asmus.
Konstanza Prinzessin zu Löwenstein will give an autobiographical and historical look at the experience of exile in her lecture "A Princess Born in Exile". Her parents had already left Germany in 1933 because of political persecution and later found refuge in the United States, where in 1942 Konstanza Prinzessin zu Löwenstein was born.


The Head of the German Exile Archive 1933-1945 of the German National Library, Dr. Sylvia Asmus, in her presentation, will explain the importance of the USA as a country of exile and explain the concept of the permanent exhibition.
The traveling exhibition of the German Exile Archive 1933-1945 of the German National Library is supported by the German Federal Government with its Deutschlandjahr USA  2018/19 initiative.
