DAI Saarland Brown Bag Lunch Presentation

Thu. May. 16, 2019 - 12:00pm - 2:00pm
We would like to invite you to a Brown Bag Lunch presentation by Dr. Bruno von Lutz, Executive Director of the Deutsch-Amerikanisches Institut Saarland, on May 16 at 12 noon in the Society’s Ratskeller. Dr. von Lutz is visiting Pennsylvania and New York as part of a Deutschlandjahr-related effort to increase cooperation between high schools and universities here and in the Saarland. The DAI Saarland also would like to grow its relationship with institutions like the German Society, and if you look at their calendar of events here: https://www.dai-saarland.de/veranstaltungen/kalender/, you’ll certainly find a lot of similarities – but also quite a bit of inspiration as to what we could add to our own activities. We’re looking forward to hearing more from Dr. von Lutz about the work of the DAI Saarland, the new initiatives made possible by the Deutschlandjahr funding, and his views of future collaborations between his institution and the German Society. And in general, it will be great to learn more about the Deutsch-Amerikanische Institute as one of the ways that Germany interacts with the United States – many of you probably have never heard of these DAIs, and we are grateful for the opportunity to fill this gap in our knowledge of German-American points of contact.
This presentation will be in English. Please bring your own lunch – the Society will provide coffee, tea, and soft drinks. And call the office at 215-627-2332, or email the office at info@germansociety.org, to let us know you are coming! Looking forward to welcoming you in the Ratskeller on May 16 at 12noon!
All of our events are open to the public.
We welcome members and non-members alike.
