GHI Brown Bag Lunch Presentation

You are cordially invited to attend a presentation by two recipients of the GHI Fellowship at the Joseph Horner Memorial Library, on Thursday, July 13, 2017, noon to 2pm. Two current German Society research fellows will discuss their research projects and answer any questions you might have. Rebecca Lott, a doctoral student of History at University of St. Andrews (UK) will speak about her research, under the title, “Charitable Ethnic Societies in Philadelphia and Charleston, 1740-1810s”. Adelheid Voskuhl, Associate Professor in the department of History and Sociology of Science at the University of Pennsylvania will present about her book-length study under the title, "Engineers’ Philosophy: Industrialism, Theories of Technology, and Social Order in the Second Industrial Revolution (1890-1930)". The seminar will convene in the Ratskeller of the Society. We ask that you bring a brown bag lunch; coffee and cold drinks will be made available by the Society.
