Konversationsabend: Music and Poems

Wed. Dec. 14, 2016 - 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Our last meeting of 2016 takes place on Wednesday, December 14 at 6 pm, in the Ratskeller at the German Society.   This meeting will be an evening dedicated to music and poetry. Around this time of the year we are all mentally preparing for Christmas, childhood memories return, and even if some of us are not religious or practice a different religion – we can all come together celebrating the birth of a very special child that once came to bring Joy to the world. And which child does not?   Last year you were all invited to bring a favorite poem and you did. This year, it would be nice if some of you also brought a CD with your favorite music. We would play only one track, and you can tell us why you picked this music, what memories are connected with it. Neither the music nor the poems (copies, if possible) need to be strictly about Christmas.   This can be our very own little Christmas party. It would be great, if everyone would bring a mini-present, really mini, it may be funny or serious. They would all go into a St. Claus bag and everybody would pick one (in exchange for at least one good line of a poem, limerick, quotation, etc.). And, of course, if you don’t have time to look for a poem or music – come anyway and enjoy the company.   As always – all are invited, all are welcome. Refreshments will be served (including vino and aqua).
All of our events are open to the public.
We welcome members and non-members alike.
