Hamburger Abend was first celebrated at the German Society over 30 years ago. The event was created by then-Business Manager Elfriede Sonnenberg, as a way to celebrate the music, food, and culture of her hometown of Hamburg, Germany. Today, the event still lives on! Hamburger Abend is celebrated in early April and is an evening filled with traditional songs, delicious wursts, goulash, and cakes, and plenty of good friendship and fun! The food is generously prepared by the Women's Auxiliary of the German Society, and the event is always enjoyed by all.
