Join one of the country's leading wine educators for a remarkable seated and guided wine tasting experience that pairs wines of German or Austrian heritage with evocative Mozart chamber music performed by a wind trio of clarinet and bassoon in the historic auditorium of the German Society of Pennsylvania. Discover the hidden history of how German-speaking regions of Europe rivalled the French greats in the 17th and 18th centuries and what these regions are best known for today, all while enjoying performances of ethereal classical music in one of our city's most under-recognized acoustic venues.

Sommelier and author Marnie Old is one of the country’s leading drinks experts and who serves as director of vinlightenment for Boisset Collection, one of the world’s leading fine wine firms based in Burgundy and Napa Valley, and pens a weekly wine education column for the Philadelphia Inquirer. Marnie is best known for her visually engaging books – the award-winning Wine: A Tasting Course, whose innovative info-graphic approach and refreshingly direct explanatory style have helped to revolutionize how wine is taught worldwide. She is also an advisory board member for the German Society and one of the founders of GSP's largest annual event, Philly Bierfest.
