Konversationsabend: Christmas Celebration

Wed. Dec. 13, 2017 - 6:00pm - 9:00pm

Our last meeting in 2017 takes place on Wednesday, December 13 at 6 pm, in the Ratskeller at the German Society.

This meeting will again be an evening dedicated to music and poetry. Around this time of the year we are all preparing for Christmas, childhood memories return, and even if some of us are not religious or practice a different religion – we can all come together celebrating the birth of a very special child that once came to bring Joy to the world.

Again, you are invited to bring a poem or a CD with your favorite music. We would play only one track, and you can tell us why you picked this music, what memories are connected with it. Neither the music nor the poems (copies, if possible) need to be strictly about Christmas. Or simply share with us your memories of an unforgettable Christmas.

This will be our very own little Christmas party. It would be great, if everyone would bring a mini-present (really mini), it may be funny or serious. All would go into a St. Claus bag and everybody would pick one (in exchange for at least one good line of a poem, limerick, quotation, etc.). And, of course, if you don’t have time to look for a poem or music – come anyway and enjoy the company.

As always – all are invited, all are welcome. Refreshments will be served.

All of our events are open to the public.
We welcome members and non-members alike.
