Transcription Tuesdays

As part of our participation in the German Historical Institute’s German Heritage in Letters project, the Horner Memorial Library is hosting a transcription group every Tuesday from 1:00-3:00pm via Zoom. All those familiar with Kurrentschrift (or interested to learn) are invited to join! We work on a variety of documents to improve our ability to decipher the old handwriting that even most native Germans cannot read.  You do not have to be fluent in German to participate, but a good reading knowledge is necessary.
